What Does my Body Need Right Now?
Instead of judging how we look we can enquire what makes us feel most ‘integrated with’ and ‘honours’ our body?
By asking, “What does my body need right now?” Then pausing and listening for the answer. Instead of forcing something upon it.
Our body can influence how we think, feel and behave at a certain moment. So altering your relationship to your body ( by listening to it) can have a profound effect on your life.
We should learn to listen to gut feelings and not push them away as inconsequential or insignificant.
Often we treat friends better than we do our own body!!! We mistreat our own body and it becomes a stranger to us as we “tune out” of the messages it’s sending us.
We don’t listen when we need to sleep, sometimes we don’t eat when we are hungry and then think that’s great! Or we eat when we are full. Or we don’t take a pee when we need to, we hold off. We push our body through it’s boundaries and also sometimes take abuse from others.
We treat the mind and body as separate instead of listening to the body’s intelligence. The intelligence held in every cell of our being and asking, “What does my body need right Now?”
Is it a healthy snack/meal? Movement? Rest? A mindful Walk? Talking to a friend? Meditation? Time alone? Listening to music? To make myself warmer? A warm bath? An invigorating shower? Sleep? Reading or learning? Ask “What does my body need right now?”
Your body is your first home, so take care of it, it is sacred, so honour it and embody it.
Be Mindful of your Body and Keep it Well.
