YOGA

I am passionate about Yoga, and the health and self esteem benefits it can bring to everyone. I was originally certified as a Yoga Teacher in 2002 by the Yoga Training and Therapy Centre.  Since then I have completed several advanced Teacher Trainings with world leading Hatha and Somatic teachers.  It has been said ”Yoga is the perfect oppertunity to be curious about who you are.” I have certainly found this to be true and the journey of discovery continues to be positively life changing in every aspect of my life. 

Since 2002 I have completed Advanced Teacher Training with leading teachers from The School of Body-Mind Centring including Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Lisa Peterson and Donna Farhi.

In 2012 I became a certified Yoga Therapist which gave me the knowledge and experience to create bespoke programmes to help an individual with physical or mental health problems. Such a programme typically includes Yoga movement, breath work and meditation practices.

I love teaching weekly Yoga classes in the local community and offering specialised Yoga sessions to different organisations and mental health chariites.  I facilitate  Mindfulness and Yoga sessions and courses for the South Eastern Trust. Offering Workshops and Retreats is a passion for me  and part of my repertoire.

SOMATICS 

I’m delighted to have  completed my Movingness Teacher Training with Peter Appel
, in June 2023.  A very thought provoking course with wonderful, innovative ways of moving, all wrapped up with the evolution of movement, Polyvagal theory, Attachment theory, ancestral movement patterns, natural breathing, the feeling body, meditative states and much more. I feel this has been one of the most beneficial courses for the body and mind that I have ever done.
 
In 2025 I completed the Movingness somatic Walking Teacher Training.
So many bad walking habits are adopted during life, perhaps through illness or just lifestyle and so unfortunately, we lose our fluidity and flow.  We forget how to walk efficiently.  This wonderful course helps to bring our awareness to how our body is moving and helps to correct the chain of movement and restore flow to the body and mind.

In 2025 Movingness became an ISMETA – approved Somatic Teacher Training.

Mindfulness

I have always been interested in the working of our minds, right back to my student days when I graduated with a BA Hons in Psychology. 

I have been teaching Mindfulness and Meditation Courses and Workshops for over 10 years , privately and as Facilitator.

.During 2020 I completed a Certificate in Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness with David Treleaven. This training enables me to teach Mindfulness safely to people undergoing current or past trauma, by offering modifications to practices.  Mindfulness can help you build resilience and resources to manage your trauma and  any  challenges that may come along.

Mindfulness For Children

I  have completed a Teacher Training course with Youth Mindfulness :

  • Youth mindfulness Kids Teacher Training for 7 – 11 years. This course is filled with games, videos, and activities that make mindfulness interesting and inspiring.

Practicing yoga, somatics and mindfulness is a way of life not a job.  I’m curious about the deeper meaning of life, I studied psycholgy and philosophy at university so the curiousity has always been there.  I’m delighted to share my experience of yoga, somatics and mindfulness with anyone who is interested in healing and wholeness.
